Officially, it sounds like a really good idea : burn our food and
biomass waste, to create low carbon level energy for 37,000 homes. In
fact , the reality is that the plant will emit dangerous pollutants
including arsenic, dioxins and nitrogen dioxide, at a distance of just
500 metres from the nearest houses. In Febuary 2014, a High
Court judge has ruled a biomass incinerator can be built in Greater
Manchester despite opposition from the local council and residents.
This is surprising , given that the ambient air in Manchester is already breaching EEC legal limits. Please sign this petition and stop the biomass incinerator in Manchester!
