Fracking find puts Poland at heart of shale revolution


San Leon Energy said that it intended to produce millions of cubic feet of gas per day from the well, near Gdansk, before the summer. 

Poland has begun a test extraction of shale gas in amounts not seen in Europe before. Eager to reduce energy dependency on Russia, Poland has succeeded after three international firms quit drilling in the country, Stating there was ''unsuccessful attempts to find commercial levels of hydrocarbons".
